Mayara Fraeda Barbosa Teixeira
I was born and raised in Belem of Para (Brazil), and as someone from the Amazon, I know the unique challenges of doing science here. I have a PhD in Geochemistry and Petrology from the Federal University of Para and completed a sandwich PhD at the University of Western Australia. I am a professor at the Department of Geosciences and in the Postgraduate Program in Geosciences (PPGGEO) at the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM).
I welcome people from all backgrounds, ethnicities, nationalities, LGBTQIA+, women, people with disabilities, and otherwise underrepresented groups to work with us. My group maintains a safe environment where all are free to talk about their barriers and difficulties specific to their backgrounds.
